Catalina Aguilar Mastretta

MÉXICO, 1984

Catalina Aguilar Mastretta (Mexico City, 1984) is a director, screenwriter and writer. She studied film at the Tisch School of the Arts (NYU) and screenwriting at the American Film Institute. She debuted with Las horas contigo (2014), nominated for the Ariel as Best First Film, and directed hits such as Todos queremos a alguien (2017) and Cindy la regia (2020). She has worked in series such as Vida and Ginny & Georgia and is the author of the novel Todos los días son nuestros (Every days belongs to us, 2016), praised by Mexican critics for its ironic, tender and generational look.
