Elsa Bornemann is a long acknowledged writer of children’s books and has received numerous prizes, amongst which inclusion in Honour Lists of the IBBY’s International Hans Christian Andersen Prize (Switzerland) and The White Ravens selection for the International Youth Library, Germany. Her books have sold steadily over the years. Half of her works have sold over 100,000 copies each and she has sold more than two million copies in Argentina alone, a token of the appreciation of her numerous readers, who are being replenished from generation to generation.
