A graduate in Political Sciences from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Maria O'Donnell also has a Masters in International Relations from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences.
She started her career in journalism in the politics section of the newspaper Página/12 in 1992. Since then she has written for different print media (La Nación, TXT magazine), as well as presenting several radio and television programmes including La Vuelta on Radio Continental and 50 minutos con María O'Donnell on Canal 26. She has won three Martín Fierro awards and two ETER awards for her journalistic work on the radio, the Fund for Investigative Journalism has given her a grant for research, and the Fundación Konex gave her a Diploma of Merit in the category of Audiovisual Political Analysis.
Maria O'Donnell is also the author of two books: El Aparato. Los intendentes del conurbano y las cajas negras de la política (The Apparatus. The Mayors of Greater Buenos Aires and the Black Boxes of Politics, Aguilar, 2005) and Propaganda K, una maquinaria de promoción con el dinero del Estado (Propaganda K, Machinery of Self-Promotion Using State Funds, Planeta, 2007).
