NARRATIVE. FONDO DE CULTURA ECONÓMICA, 2014. 298 PAGES.
The texts that Ricardo Piglia has selected for this anthology are extremely varied and feature many different styles and registers. Written over a period of almost fifty years, they include fictions, essays, public statements and autobiographical tales, several of which have never been published before, that chronicle imaginary experiences. Together, they offer a new, genuinely personal, intimate and enigmatic approach to Piglia’s literature and works. Describing the book in his own words, Piglia says: “If there is a framework, a dark autobiographical thread, encoded in the work – as this book represents me more faithfully than any other I’ve published – then one can imagine a future reader acting as an amateur literary sleuth, discovering not just a general shape but also the secrets woven into this personal anthology.”
