NOVEL. EDELVIVES, 2023. 125 PAGES.
In 1923, the writer Franz Kafka came across a girl in a park in Berlin crying because she'd lost her doll Pupé. In an attempt to console her, Kafka told her that Pupé had gone travelling and over the next few days sent her letters purportedly from the lost doll. The letters were never found but this novel recreates them so we can hear about Pupé's adventures first hand.
Fabián Martínez Siccardi has published stories, novels and plays for adults and children. After learning about the encounter between one of his favourite writers, Kafka, and the girl who lost her doll in a park, he set about doing detailed research to turn the story into a novel, including a trip to Berlin to visit the settings for the story.
