Martín Kohan

ARGENTINA, 1967

HERRALDE NOVEL PRIZE 2007

He holds a BA and PhD in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, and is a professor of Literary Theory.

His literary work includes novels, short stories and essays, standing out for dealing with the Argentine reality and its recent history. Among his best-known novels are Ciencias morales (Moral Sciences, 2007), winner of the Herralde Novel Prize and adapted to film under the title La mirada invisible (The Invisible Gaze).

In recognition of his literary career, in 2023 he received the Grand Prize of Honor from the Argentine Society of Writers (SADE) and, in 2024, he was named “Outstanding Personality” in the field of culture of the City of Buenos Aires.

Martín Kohan’s work has been translated into several languages, consolidating him as a very relevant figure in contemporary Argentine literature.
