POETRY, 1993

To love, to fight, to work, to die, everything is a motif of poetry for Mario Benedetti. Every small situation of daily life deserves a song, a celebration of the constant surprise of existing. For Benedetti, poetry has no meaning if it is not shared, if it is not reproduced, if it is not fruitful. The poet becomes our own voice when the lover, the revolutionary, the office worker, recognize themselves in him, joining in the rite of celebration to life.
