Hugo Pratt and Jean Giraud, Moebius, two charming cartoonists, land in Buenos Aires in 1979. They arrive, together with their friend Opi, to take part in a comic book biennial. When Opi disappears from the hospital where he was admitted, they turn to the agency of Julio Etchenike, who, despite some initial doubts, decides to take the case.
This is just the beginning of the new adventure for our private investigator, who will become increasingly immersed in a colossal scam involving police, military, services, cartoonists, publishers, wives, mothers, children, friends and lovers at a time in Argentine history when it is difficult to define precisely who is who and what the objectives of each are.
With Tinta china Etchenike returns, accompanied by his inseparable Tony “el Gallego” García and Negro Sayagom in a story of betrayals and crossed interests in which nothing is what it seems and where only a writer of Juan Sasturain’s talent can make it possible for what begins as a detective novel to become the lively and endearing story of an entire nationality: Argentina.
«As you turn the pages of Indian ink, you get the impression that Sasturain has taken out his box of best toys, dumped them on the table, and started playing with them with childlike delight and the skill of an experienced storyteller.»
