Bef, Bernardo Fernández

MÉXICO, 1972

Bernardo Fernández, aka Bef, is a writer, story teller and graphic designer. He was born in Ciudad de México in 1972.

He has published novels such as Tiempo de alacranes and Black Ice; graphic novels such as Uncle Bill and María Speaks. A graphic novel about autism; several books of short stories and other children’s literature such as I am the Robot, Monster under the Bed Requests Child to Scare and 3 whishes, among others.

He is one of the most recognized graphic narrative writers in Latin America and has won several awards, including the National Novel Award Otra vuelta de tuerca, the Grijalbo Award, the Silverio Cañada Memorial Award of the Semana Negra de Gijón, the Ignotus Award of the Spanish Association of Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror. His work has been translated into several languages.
