SIMÓN BOLÍVAR NATIONAL JOURNALISM PRIZE
Gerardo Reyes has studied Law and worked as a reporter for the Investigative Unit of El Tiempo and as both reporter and editor on Latin America for El Nuevo Herald of Miami. In 1993 he won the US National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ first prize. He was on the team of The Miami Herald reporters that received the Pulitzer Prize for best investigative work. He has been correspondent for El Tiempo in Miami and editorial advisor to the magazines Semana, Gatopardo, Punto-Com and Poder. His articles have been published in Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela and Switzerland. Reyes has been a university lecturer and is author of a manual used in several universities in Latin America and the USA.
